Burrowed: The Future

It's been a while and I was putting off the news. I upgraded to Late Night and I lost my save file with the Burrowed characters. Granted, They're still there in the bin, but the "world" I had built for the story in specific was gone. I figured I'd get around to rebuilding it (for the second time) but life gets in the way.

This week, I decided to write some more of their story in the meantime and if it came to it, I would upload the story alone, without pictures.

I'm not sure how I managed it, but the file I'd written in no less than 2 months ago, is gone as well. That leaves me with trying to recreate the world and hope to re-write the last 5 or so chapters I had already written months ago, and try to remember it. Or I can take it for what it is, a series of blundering mishaps and bad luck, and forget it.

That said, my life is still busy and I find less and less time to devote to something I love, writing. Perhaps sometime in the future, I will revisit these characters and pick up from where I left off, but for now, time does not permit me to. However, I might begin a less time consuming story later on, something that doesn't depend as much on "sets" as this one did. With the help of pose player and all the custom poses coming out (that I love) it should be a bit more interesting. So check back here from time to time. =]

When I get a chance, I may also upload the characters from Burrowed. Some of you wanted them, and I had promised them when the story was finished but since it's on hold indefinitely...

Anyway, Sorry for any disappointment. Happy simming.

Burrowed: Chapter Five

Through the hills to the outskirts of Davens, the rain started to come down lightly. Tiny drops slowly coursed down the now-cracked windows, as I relaxed into the seat letting the cool air dance over the humid, sticky feeling clinging to my skin. I looked over at Apollo driving quietly, watching his cigarette smoke slowly drift between us in the occasional splash of sporadic lighting on the old road. Some electronic-instrumental song played from his mp3 player and it fit right into this perfect setting.

Burrowed: Chapter Four

[Part Two - 8 Years Later; Present Day]

I sprinted through the dark, underground streets. Barefoot, I paid little attention to the slivers of broken glass and rocks that tore at the soles of my feet. I could hear him not far behind, as he steadily pursued me. Frantically, I searched left and right for places to hide.

Burrowed: Chapter Three

"Get out of the car," Alaric ordered me, shaking me from my thoughts. Like a scared dog, I obeyed and followed him into the warehouse and then into the tunnels my father had taken me through not too long ago.

Burrowed: Chapter Two

It was a clear and bright day, but rather cold regardless. My eyes were having trouble adjusting to the sun, and I was glad my father had thought of my need for sunglasses beforehand. I followed his instructions and soon found myself in a small park in the town of Davens. From years of eavesdropping on visitors, I knew a little about Davens and that this park was the center of the place.

Burrowed: Chapter One

My father knew my mother, Julianne, his whole life and they were married rather young. I was born soon after their marriage and five years later my brother, Micah, came along. We were raised in one of the extravagant homes reserved for council members, but that doesn't mean we were spoiled. My mother made sure we had enough of whatever we needed, but never too much. My father, after being appointed to the Faction, began his studies in medicine and became our resident physician. He had a lot of responsibilities and was overworked, but we all are down here.

Burrowed: Prologue

I'm Jackson Hayes. Most people call me Jack. Underaan is my home. It always has been. It had been the idea of the Faction. A secret society consisting of my parent's parents and their group of
selected friends. A vast underground utopia, quietly teeming with life under the feet of the upper world. To this day, I don't really understand what drove them underground in the first place but each generation to follow was taught not to question much. We have rules we must obey, and if we do not, well, there are consequences.
